My top 3 Favourite East End Outdoor Locations for Toronto Family Photography

Toronto is made for family photography! The city filled with vibrant landscapes, stunning parks, and scenic views, making it an ideal location for family photography sessions. Whether you’re looking for lush greenery, waterfront views, or urban backdrops, Toronto really has it all. Here are three of my favourite locations in the east end of Toronto for capturing beautiful family moments.

Bluffer’s Park (Scarborough)

If you're looking for a beachy, relaxed atmosphere, Bluffer's Park Beach is a perfect spot. Located at the base of the Scarborough Bluffs, the beach offers soft golden sand and a lovely view of the bluffs above. The combination of water and towering cliffs creates an iconic Toronto backdrop where you and your family will want to plan and that joy will make your family photos stand out.

Tip: During peak Summer, the bluffs is best on weekdays when it's less busy.

Ashbridges Bay & Woodbine Beach

This is one of my favourite Summer locations!  From playing in the sand to splashing in the water,  Ashbridges Bay and Woodbine Beach offer the perfect backdrop for candid family fun.  The iconic Leuty Lifeguard Station is a Toronto staple that adds a sense of nostalgia to your photos.  Look to the west on a clear day and you can see the CN Tower despite feeling a million miles away from the city.

Tip: The beach has some great ice cream shops which is a fun family treat (or bribe….) following your photo session.  I recommend Ed’s Real Scoop for an after photo session celebration.

Evergreen Brickworks

For a more rustic and urban vibe, Evergreen Brick Works offers a unique setting for Toronto family photography. This former industrial site has been transformed into an environmental community center and is surrounded by nature trails, gardens, and water features. The combination of reclaimed brick buildings, lush greenery, and ponds provides a perfect contrast that adds an interesting texture to your family photos.

Tip: It’s an excellent location for families who want an eco-friendly or more urban feel.  There is also an onsite cafe with delicious treats!

Whether you’re drawn to the natural beauty of parks and lakesides or prefer the charm of urban streets and historic districts, you’ll find a spot that suits your family’s personality and style. Whichever location you choose, remember the session is about you and your family – the best photos happen when everyone feels comfortable and connected!
